Description

Let’s talk about the finest commuter, town, touring bike in the shop. Currently that would be the Premio Nu from Pegasus. This bike pulls out all the stops in terms of included components and capabilities. It starts with the Bosch Performance Line CX mid drive motor and frame integrated Powertube battery for great power and range. It also sports a gorgeous high gloss metallic dark blue w/orange and black accents paint scheme that is a real head turner out in the sun.

The Bosch Purion 4 level power control system includes the coveted EMTB mode – the first time I’ve seen this on a street bike. Essentially, this mode delivers the full range of assistance from the smallest amount to 100% of the motor’s power based on your pressure at the pedals without needing to change levels on the display. Adding the NuVinci variable gearing rear hub and Gates Carbon Belt Drive makes this just about the easiest and smoothest-to-operate bike possible with today’s tech.

Another unique upgrade is the Magura hydraulic rim brake system. They are very strong and eliminate the possibility of rotor damage with a disc brake system when parking in bike racks and other tight quarters. It’s more of a European issue where you’ll find literally dozens or hundreds of bikes crowded into small parking areas. Nevertheless the technology is sound and we’ve become fans of the system very quickly here at the shop.

Along with the expected addition of a suspension fork, adjustable handlebar stem, Ergon grips, front and rear lights, fenders, and a rear rack, you can add as bonuses a rack mounted tire pump, rear wheel lock, an external chain that works in tandem with said lock tucked neatly into a small saddle bag, and a simple suspension seat post to take the edge off the rough spots along your route.

Due to a large volume purchase we’re able to offer this $4699 flagship model for a cool $1k off. Yes, you read that right – $4699 marked down to $3699. So, if you’re interested in the best that Pegasus from Germany has to offer in an on-road bike that’s packed with features and accessories, the Premio Nu, available in both diamond and low step thru (wave) styles, most assuredly could be the bike for you.
