With the arrival of the Tern Vektron D8, we have raised the bar on our electric folding bike offering to its highest point yet. This has quickly become a favorite ride for me. The D8 delivers ample power across a range of 5 levels via torque sensing technology. Smooth shifting and solid hydraulic disc braking convey a confident feeling. The frame build and folding mechanisms are very robust and simple to operate. Moving and carrying this folder will be an easy task.
The Vektron D8 comes equipped with all the amenities required to make it a daily commuter or weekend warrior machine: headlight, tailight, fenders, and a rear rack. An easily adjustable handlebar stem design allows for a perfect fit for different riders. The Bafang motor and lockable removable battery system are very impressive, delivering higher power output levels than most of the other mid drive brands available today.
I found the ride characteristics of the D8 to be superior to all other folders that I’ve ridden in my twelve years with ebikes. The flex and subtle “looseness factor” that are present with most folders are happily absent with this bike. The compact nature of the overall package makes this a great choice for smaller riders or anyone looking for a rig that’s more manageable than a full size bike.
